Segovia is a city where modernity spreads without doing injustice to the old stones. The examples of contemporary architecture, while still few, deserve a special mention due to their location in such a traditional city as Segovia.

The present can be clearly seen in any of the surrounding neighbourhoods of the city; among modern or renovated and traditional neighbourhoods, urban and rural, busy and tranquil. Of particular note is the neighbourhood of Nueva Segovia, newly constructed in the 1990s and based on a new urban concept of interior squares.

The future has materialised in a series of recent exceptional buildings such as the new health centre "Segovia III", the AVE train station, the new University of Valladolid campus, and the police station, among others.
